Saffron is derived from the dried stigma of the Crocus Sativus flower. Due to the many health and well-being benefits the spice confers, it has been widely sought-after throughout human existence.

Saffron gives a distinctive aroma, flavour and brilliant yellow colour to paella, risotto and rice; it makes a delicious and refreshing tea, and is the classic ingredient in the famous French fish soup, Bouillabaisse.
